Medicine Ball Community Screening

Monday, March 23, 2026
5:30 pm – 9 pm

Location:
University of Minnesota Morris Student Center
105 Cougar Circle
Morris, MN 56267

Join us for a community screening and discussion of Medicine Ball. Produced by Twin Cities PBS, the documentary follows Native college athletes Lexus and LeRoy, as they navigate their educational and athletic journeys. The film delves into the deeper roots of basketball within Native communities, particularly in relation to the dark history of boarding schools. Located on the site of a former Native boarding school, UMN Morris provides a unique and compelling setting for this story.

Medicine Ball reveals how basketball is more than a game — it’s a symbol of hope, resilience, and cultural pride in Native communities.

Guests will have an opportunity to watch the film, enjoy an engaging panel discussion, participate in an audience Q&A, and connect with other community members.
